OSR4Rights
Using open-source intelligence to transform the documentation/discovery of human rights violations

Open-source intelligence (OSINT) is of increasing importance to human rights investigations, in light of the fact that investigators are often denied access to affected regions. However, new issues arise with these types of investigations. The huge volume of evidence retrievable from social media can make it difficult for investigators to extract truly useful information. OSR4Rights breaks new ground by examining how open-source research is used in human rights investigations and interrogating whether and how this evidence can be leveraged more systematically for the discovery and documentation of human rights violations in future.
